I believe products should be effective, dependable, safe, and easy to use by the intended user. To gather raw data, I draw upon methodologies that use electronic, acoustic and optical measuring equipment, sensory panels, and expert assessments.For new products, a unique blend of psychology, physics, math and data processing must be developed. I draw upon various research that has been done by other experts, looking for that which translates most to my work.With my peers in Integrated Content Creation, we skillfully translate all the technical findings into a complete and readable form for everyone to understand. A lot of raw data is generated -- I must exercise a good deal of spreadsheet, database and programming knowledge to make it readable and understandable.Consumer Reports has published for (nearly) 8 decades its famous ratings tables for numerous products and services. A surprising amount of work goes into optimizing this ratings presentation.I maintain my expertise in consumer electronics and follow the related technologies.
