I became a co-manager of a copy shop service business within my first semester at college and brought technology and efficiency to an outdated system. I became the leader of the academic committee that takes care of printing course material for professors and their students. By digitizing this whole process, it allowed the company to gain 25% more products the first semester I was put on the task. This helped the company earn 15% more revenue from the additional products. Customer service is a key skill when running the academic committee because I would have to be in constant communication with professors. I have recently been given purchasing permissions so I am now in charge of purchasing, inventory and restocking the store. I also have dug into the business margins and established higher margins for all of the products by finding ways to decrease expenses. I even gained leadership experience from working as a Zumba instructor at the UMass Recreation Center. I leveraged my ability to work a crowd and motivate people to push and work hard to get a job done. Motivation is key in any job so it is an asset to be able to pass motivation from one person to another. That is what I have done, and still currently do, at all of my group fitness classes. I continue to surprise myself be taking on two more jobs in my senior year of college. I am an intern for a start up real estate company in Amherst as well as a teaching assistant for a quality management class.
