In this role, I was responsible for Operations, Customer Service, Catalog/Content, and the Product/Tech teams supporting Ops, Retail, and Marketplace.• Managed ~4,000 thousand associates and product/tech leaders across 4 countries.• Recruited global talent and established mechanisms enforced by our own Warehouse Management System (WMS) that enabled us to ship >1M units per month from 5 warehouses with a .7-day average “click to ship” SLA.• Scaled our own delivery fleet capacity and geographical coverage to handle 80% of sales volume delivering to 128 cities reaching 89% of the population across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.• Launched Guaranteed Same Day and Next Day Shipping Service and achieved 90.5% delivery estimate accuracy by leveraging machine learning to accurately predict delivery promise and service availability.• Reduced customer service contacts in half (to .5 contacts per order) by mining voice and ticket data to identify top recurring issues eliminating defects by partnering with upstream stakeholders to root cause and solve.• Led engineering and product teams to build our own WMS that automated nearly all decision-making in the warehouse and enforced strong controls needed to accurately fulfill eCommerce orders at scale. -

I sat on the board and helped raise over $370M from Tiger Global, Naspers, IFC (World Bank), Vulcan Capital (Paul Allen), and others.• Led the transformation of the business from a consumer-to-consumer listing-based auctions marketplace to a catalog-based fixed price model with controls over marketplace quality. Migrated to AWS.• Rolled out 1st party Retail, acquired a payment company (CashU), launched our own payment gateway (Payfort now Amazon Payment Services), and rolled out an entirely new mobile responsive website.• Set up a tech center in Bangalore (~50 people) and acquired a mobile app development company in New Delhi.
