I believe in Equity Work. I believe in missions, and I believe in the power that non-profits have. It’s what has driven me as a development professional and non-profit leader over the course of my career. It was an interesting transition when I moved out of data center management and into marketing and development. I didn’t have any prior experience outside of some student fundraising, but I believed I could have an impact. That transition has taken me to where I am today, where I oversee over $8 million raised annually and assisting in managing the non-profit. I’ve worked with Board Members to enhance our development efforts and have left budgets in better shape than I found them at each stop.Outside of work I enjoy gardening, playing tennis, making craft cocktails (with a particular affinity for Moscow Mules), and playing with my 2 dogs, Lily and Tucker.

I came to ASC because I’ve always had an appreciation of arts, science and history. Having worked at 2 other recipients of ASC funding, I have had the unique perspective of watching the organization evolve, and when the chance to join it and modernize the fundraising operation came my way, I had to take it.My role includes:-Development- I have a responsibility for $8 million in dollars raised from individual, corporate, and government funding sources. I liaise with our Board of Directors and President to get the budget approved and fundraising plan executed. -Government Relations- When I started here, I was responsible for just individual, corporate and foundation giving, but after 12 months I was given responsibility for managing government funding.-Team Leadership- My staff size has fluctuated, especially with COVID-19, but I have led a team of up to 5 fundraisers including hiring, coaching, and developing their skills.-COVID-19- The pandemic has had its impact on us just as much as it has anyone other sector, but we’ve stayed strong and actually exceeded our financial targets in spite of the pandemic.

Carolina Raptor Center is dedicated to environmental stewardship and the conservation of birds of prey, through education, research, and rehabilitation of raptors. I was a Biology major my first 2 years of college and have always had an appreciation for the outdoors. I was also looking for a chance to focus more on development, and CRC allowed me a great opportunity to hone my skills. My role included:-Development- With a focus on private sector donors, I worked with my team to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, foundation, and corporate donors while leading and managing 2 yearly events. -Strategic Planning- In collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, I developed strategic solicitation strategies based on donor interests.-Capital Campaign- I oversaw a $3.6 million campaign for the new Quest Adventure Center.-Process Improvement- Our donor management system was antiquated, so I worked with Blackbaud to implement a new CRM to bring our tracking capabilities into the modern world.
A celebrated intimate theater featuring contemporary performances, educational classes, and workshops, this is where my non-profit adventure began.I had little experience in marketing or fundraising, but my MBA focus was in marketing and I was the top student fundraiser in college. I knew I loved working with people, so this was a great chance to put all of those things together. My role included:-Development- I increased our contributed revenue by 86% and secured an additional $120,000 after working with the Board of Trustees to develop the 1st major gift society-Marketing- created annual marketing campaigns to complement each show during the season. Media buys included print, radio and television.-Grant Writing- I secured over $100,000 in new funding through targeted grant proposals.
An online renting platform, I took this position after relocating from Atlanta to Charlotte. My role included:-Website- I maintained the site and updated it weekly with new content.-Data Analysis- To improve our sales I would analyze data to determine new sales prospects.-Google Campaigns- I modified keywords and content to maximize our search reach.
