Brain Foundation is a nationally registered charity dedicated to funding ​the next generation of world-class research into neurological disorders, brain disease and brain injuries.​ Our goal is to deliver better treatments, cures and outcomes​ to patients and their families.Established in 1970 by neurologists and neurosurgeons, the Brain Foundation ​remains the largest independent, non-government funder of neurological and neuroscientific research in Australia.​ We provide research grants to candidates who are selected by a Scientific Panel made up of eminent neurological practitioners.

For 26 years I was a Director of DreamWeaver Communications Pty Ltd heading up business & creative development + production. During this period I worked as a freelancer, contractor, and salaried employee for a vast array of advertising agencies, marketing companies, multimedia production houses, blue-chip organisations, and small start-ups. My work varied from large, complex projects to small, one-off ad-hoc jobs (sometimes all at the same time). As a communications professional & award-winning writer / project director, I frequently contracted (short & long term) for government departments, large corporates, advertising agencies, design studios, production companies, and NFPs.As a writer, my passion is crafting compelling stories & words that inspire, motivate, educate and entertain. As a strategist, I’m well versed in developing integrated brand campaigns for all forms of external & internal communications.

Developing high-quality and technically accurate content for numerous websites and platforms. The role embraces a broad range of writing, project and stakeholder management responsibilities, including testing new functionality to enhance (internal & external) customer experience. Written content includes deadline driven corporate communications, specialty web projects, new enhancements, blogs and social media.

As part of a small global team of content writers / designers in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Great Britain, and India, I was responsible for the APAC region working across the Product, Marketing, and Care divisions.I was heavily involved in developing content strategy, launching voice and tone, collaborating on design workflow, developing and localising clear, user-friendly UI and online help content for QuickBooks Online for up to 9 countries on a monthly release cycle. Together, we ensured Intuit was (and still is) officially one of the best places to work in Australia and remains the driving force behind the world’s #1 cloud accounting software QuickBooks Online.

Australian licensee working closely with the Australian and American offices of Warner Bros and Disney to produce a vast array of merchandised products and collectables. Developing unique marketing concepts for blue-chip clients.

As Creative Director I collaborated closely with a small team of highly talented writers and producers to create on-air content including live and recorded commercials and promotional spots which accounted for over 25% of all airtime. This position also involved working closely with high profile (and demanding) personalities including Alan Jones, John Laws, Ray Hadley and Don Burke (just to name a few). During my tenure 2UE rated Number ONE in the highly competitive Sydney radio market.During these years I also regularly lectured at AWARD school, advertising colleges and judged the prestigious International Broadcasting Awards for the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
