- I helped areyouonpoint.co to maintain a legacy React Native app and scale their product by profiling and refactoring bottlenecks on a GraphQL API (node.js + Apollo), moving heavy processing to queues with Redis + BullMQ, adjusting the AWS docker containers settings to handle traffic spikes and increasing security with automated integration/unit tests with jest and supertest. I also developed the API billing system based on MAU tiers integrated with Stripe. Later, the app was discontinued due to a business model change (to focus on API usage via SDKs) and they were acquired.- Worked on the MVP for athlete.ai, a React Native app that makes use of computer vision to automatically capture highlights from the user recording (focused on basketball) which also has some social media features. I was responsible for creating a public feed (similar to Instagram and TikTok), authentication, user onboarding, deep links and helped to maintain a backend on top of Next.js which serves the app content and a private dashboard. I also helped train some machine learning models on Xcode + CoreML to be used on the app via Swift native modules to validate the AI features.- Worked on various chatbot projects integrated with chat-GPT on top of Next.js, sometimes also using Python, FastAPI, Langchain, and Chainlit.- One of the maintainers of the NPM package react-native-health, currently in a refactoring process to the new RN architecture and from Objective-C to Swift.
