During my time as Candidate Industrial Engineer at Synfuels, I rotated between 7 different departments to develop skills in various areas of Industrial Engineering. I gained experience in business process analysis and re-engineering, root cause analysis, business case development, inventory management, training, change management, tool development in VBA, data acquisition and analysis, simulation modeling in Arena, decision support to quantify the impact of changes in plant inputs, project management in shutdowns and logistics scheduling.

Incremath is a Mathematics centre for high school students in Secunda, Mpumalanga. I started giving Mathematics classes in the evenings while working full time for Sasol. In July 2017, the centre had 20 students, a gear change was made to move to a house and the centre's name was changed to Mighty Minds Learning Centre. This is the first learning centre of its kind in Secunda, and is a great addition to the town. I've stepped out of the management of this centre, and it will continue to operate when I leave the town.With this startup, I learned how to manage time in its most efficient form, playing time Tetris to fit classes for 20 students while working full time. I learned about marketing, client management, ordering stock and setting prices, managing cash flow, registering a private company, and most importantly I learned how to identify the gap in a student's learning in order to close it.There is no greater joy for me than enabling someone to be all they can be.
