Cut and peeled lead sheath and insulation from newly installed cables and conductors preparatory to splicing.• Tested, traced or phased-out conductors to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cable sections, according to electrical diagrams and specifications, to prevent incorrect connections between individual communication circuits.• Cleaned, tinned, and spliced corresponding conductors by metal clips.• Covered conductors with insulating or fireproofing materials. Fit lead sleeve around cable joint and wiped molten lead into joints between sleeve and cable sheath to produce a moisture proof joint. Filled completed sleeve with insulating oil. Worked on active telephone circuits to avoid interruption of service• Spliced cable/fiber as per engineering schematics for new construction projects.• Equipment used: OTDR, throwmaster, blow torch, lead solder torch, drove diesel truck with CDL license.
