Based on the acquisition of 6 ship repair companies in 2012/3 in combination with the already existing 8 repair companies a decision was made to create a separate division within the Damen Group, called Damen Shiprepair & Conversion.In total this division consist of 16 locations, from which one in Sweden, one in Curacao, two in France and 12 in the Netherlands with a total production value of app. 500 million € and 1.800 employees.As a Board member responsible for:• Finance: direct reports from all finance managers from the 16 locations as well as a business controller. Responsible for budgeting, monthly and quarterly reporting of the division, contact with the auditor and tax consultants. Implementation of Direct costing system throughout the division. Implementation of Risk management for larger & complex contracts (> 2,0 million €)• Legal: First point of contact for all relevant legal issues, assisted by 3 legal advisors and a contract manager.• Insurance: First point of contact for all relevant Insurance issues, assisted by the Risk Manager of Damen Shipyards Group.
