Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Networks:• Analyzed terabytes of P2P traffic traces from large Internet service providers.• Developed techniques to identify anomalies in P2P systems.• Designed and implemented security protocol to make P2P systems robust to denial-of-service attacks. Recommendations were integrated into the popular eMule system.• Developed modeling techniques to evaluate the impact of P2P traffic on ISP networks.• Designed and implemented security protocol to enable data confidentiality in a P2P video broadcasting system.Video Distribution Networks:• Analyzed terabytes of YouTube traffic traces from large ISPs.• Characterized the server selection strategies used by YouTube to deliver video to clients.
