For 7 years, I have been attempting to solve the Fashion Industry's biggest problem - fit. Up to 60% of ecommerce sales are returned. Of that 60%, nearly 50% is never sold again. Why? Because Ready to Wear clothing does not fit, sizing is inaccurate and varies greatly from brand to brand, sometimes even among offerings of the same brand. You'll have a Medium in one garment, and a Large in another. In another brand, you're an Extra Large and in the other you're a small. The next season, the new version of the garment you ordered last year will have a completely different fit and your previous size does not fit you anymore. Consumers are left having to order 2-4 sizes every time they purchase something online. This causes pollution, customer frustration, and hurts retailer and brand margins. As a solution to this, Tailored Technologies has developed, under my lead, an extensive software and automation stack capable of not just generating patterns that accurately and comfortably fit any human body type - but we placed great emphasis on manufacturability. Our software stack is able to generate 360 fully manufacturable orders per day per compute cluster. Our technology has been implemented successfully across three different factories globally - 2 in Portugal, 1 in Mexico. Our patterns are invisible in the factory - we adjust to the factory, keeping seam allowances, notches, and other important parameters in line with the factory requirements. Our solution is the most advanced on-demand-manufacturing model in existence.I am currently looking to partner with factories or technology companies to scale our offering globally. For more information regarding Tailored Technologies, please watch my presentation at PI Apparel SCF Amsterdam 2023. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMxamSdqBis

Co-FounderTailored Technologies Dec 2016 - PresentRotterdam, South Holland, NetherlandsI co-founded Tailored Technologies in 2016, a pre-seed funded startup. The company, under my lead, has developed proprietary algorithms that generate one-off, bespoke patterns based on body measurements from 3D scans. As opposed to made to measure, these patterns are not based on a set of sizes which are then altered, but truly unique. This allows for a better fit, and inclusion of more body types. Most importantly, those selling the product no longer need to be skilled in fitting, and size sets are no longer needed either. These generated patterns are turned into factory-ready cutting files or markers along with accompanying technical sheets by our proprietary automation software. We have successfully implemented our algorithms with three very different factories around the world, but we are not yet market-ready due to technical limitations related to 3D body scanning which we hope the industry will solve soon. In my capacity as CTO, it is my responsibility to develop the pattern algorithms, general algorithms, developing and giving lead to the team making our proprietary automation and patternmaking software, and testing breakthrough technologies that might be of use to us, such as 3D scanning solutions. -
