Ruben Del-Rio-Ruiz is a postdoctoral fellow in Electrical and Computer Engineering at NanoLab, Tufts University, Boston USA. He holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain. He has obtained the “Catedra Telefonica” scholarship during his B.S. degree, short-term basic research grants during his M.S. degree from the Basque Government and a five-year full-time Predoctoral Grant, also from the Basque Government. He has received the 2nd best award in Telecommunications Engineering in his B.S. project from the Official Technical College of Telecommunications Engineers (COITT), and the ERICSSON Award for Best Master's Thesis in Innovation in the Connected Society of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT). His research interests include designing and fabricating medical devices such us microneedles, ingestible devices, thread-based electrochemical sensors platforms and smart wearables. He also has expertise on electromagnetics, planar antenna designs, energy harvesting systems, and miniaturization of electronic and mechanical-based devices.
