I am an extremely motivated mechanical engineering student with a minor in computer science seeking to further develop my skills as an engineer, I wish to continue to contribute to new projects, while developing my expertise in using CAD software, along with my experience in machining, and using my critical thinking skills to tackle new challenges. I am currently furthering my design understanding for easier manufacturing. In my previous role as a drafter, I was tasked with drawing high quality 3d models along with 2d instructions for manufacturing. I collaborated with engineers to bring both their designs and my own into working protypes, till they were ready for floor use. Meeting project deadlines is one of the biggest things I learned while collaborating with a team of engineers along with estimates of length of time a design will take to draw from scratch. Working as a machinist has made me understand the importance of material choice that I then considered when designing new parts. Upkeep of existing machinery was a significant role I had whether reverse engineering parts for broken down machines or simple maintenance of machines. As a team member collaborating with engineers, I have learned the ins and outs of the manufacturing process.
