Rubén Machaen (Caracas, 1987) Venezuelan/Mexican journalist, writer, and educator. He studied literary studies in Buenos Aires and taught Journalism at the Universidad Monteávila in Caracas and Journalism Structure at Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico. He has also contributed to international media outlets such as El Espectador (Colombia), La Tempestad and Tercera Vía (Mexico), ViceVersa (New York), and El Estímulo (Venezuela).In Caracas, he worked as a reporter for the newspapers Tal Cual and El Mundo, and contributed to the edition of Nuevo País de las Artes (Banesco). In Mexico, he was a scriptwriter for ADN40, and Communications & Media Coordinator for Kybernus, a civil association dedicated to identifying and promoting local leadership.In 2012, he published the short story "Fulanito y sus quejas domingueras" (Fulanito and his Sundays Complaints) in the National Library of Argentina magazine in Buenos Aires. In 2017, he published the novel Soundtracks (Rocolas que no existen) with the publisher Ígneo.He resides in the United States, where he contributed to the New York City International Book Fair (FILNYC, in Spanish) and founded the non-profit organization Immigrants Beyond Immigration. He also published a short story in Volume VI of the FILNYC yearly Anthology and is one of the authors of Volume 5 of Hispanic Rising Stars.
