I am a PI at the Institut Pasteur de São Paulo, leading an innovative project on wastewater surveillance for Influenza Viruses and RNA vaccine innovation. With a Master's and PhD in Microbiology from Universidade de São Paulo, my extensive background in virology and vaccinology is complemented by four years of postdoctoral experience at La Jolla Institute for Immunology. There, I specialized in RNA vaccine development and animal models for COVID-19, dengue, and Zika, gaining valuable insights that have enriched my scientific perspective and technical skills.This new role will utilize my expertise in molecular biology to develop a surveillance model that monitors wastewater for rapid detection of IVA, enhancing our ability to respond to influenza outbreaks effectively. The model aims to adapt vaccine formulations swiftly to reflect the prevalent viral strains, significantly improving public health responses across São Paulo. The mentoring I received through the Activator program at Nucleate has shaped my approach to innovation, providing me with the tools to lead and manage cutting-edge research projects.This position represents an exciting opportunity to apply my research in a practical setting, where I can directly contribute to managing public health challenges in my home country.
