Founder And Executive DirectorYouth Art Exchange (Formerly The Out Of Site Youth Art Center) 2000 - 2013San Francisco, CaFounded and built San Francisco’s first multidisciplinary arts education and youth development organization for urban youth, beginning as a summer arts program from 15 students and growing into a 6-discipline visual and performing arts organization with 15 staff and four interns serving 200-250 public school students each year—programming impacting more than 3,000 students over 13 years. Programming included 12 semester-long classes and four summer job-training camps annually, public events and art projects, and youth leadership initiatives including an 8-member youth advisory board and teaching assistantships serving more than 150 students over 13 years. We also produced 6-8 public student performances and exhibitions / events annually for audiences of 50-400.Arts education policy work included key city memberships beginning in 2009, representing Out of Site at community- and city-wide convenings and collaboratives including Afterschool for All, Excelsior Collaborative, and OMI Community Collaborative.Managed facilities relationships with Lick-Wilmerding High School, San Francisco Unified School District, and Envision Schools. Composed and grew 6-8 member board of directors; co-led 13 board trainings and retreats; developed 3-year strategic plan and fund development plan; cultivated relationships with 80 individual donors, 10 foundations, 10 in-kind donors, and four government donors, and additional small business community champions; and created 15 key partnerships with SFUSD, city agencies, colleges, arts institutions, community-based nonprofits, and other arts and non-arts organizations.
