An important part of my profession is to discuss inventions with inventors to ascertain whether they're likely to succeed in being granted patents. Afterwards, I write precise formulations of what will be protected by the patent (the claims) and detailed technical descriptions of the inventions. Often, while discussing an invention, I try to challenge the inventors to extend or improve their invention.Another important part is commercial advice to clients, including advising on freedom to operate, patent valuation, and general IP strategy to balance costs and opportunities.Beyond that, I ensure that patent applications as well as any necessary responses are validly and timely filed with national patent offices, I safeguard legal deadlines, I advise and act in opposition and infringement disputes, I advise foreign attorneys on applications of my clients in their territories, and I routinely present and discuss important case law for the colleagues in my firm.Additionally, I am leading AOMB's project to identify quality opportunities for using generative AI.Besides for SME clients, I also worked for Ericsson, Nexperia, TU Eindhoven, TU Delft, and Cargill.
