The CERG is an initiative of the University of Málaga with the objective of transferring academic knowledge in the area of Geographical Information Systems and geographical data analysis to the society as a whole and to existing and prospecting business in order to open new markets and improve existing ones.

As CTO of Cartometrics, my main function is to drive the tech development, selecting the right technology stack for each situation we face, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring they can do their work to the best of their capabilities.As a small startup, our biggest strengths has always been our agility, closeness to our clients and our ability to push the state of the art of the technologies we do use, and so I have successfully focus our knowledge towards Big Data, Machine Learning and Geospatial analysis in the field of satellite imagery, using image recognition to detect and predict features and events.

As Head of Engineering, I focused my work in a complete rewrite of all of our systems, using a serverless approach with both Firebase and AWS improving our UX key metrics (load times, user retention, user conversion...) 80% in average . Part of my responsabilities include supervising our external providers, along with the development of a financial / crypto trading system using open source software.

During my time as a senior developer I focused on improving the software architecture already in place. As part of the technologies used, I used a microservices approach, using Docker containers orchestrated by docker-compose, a SSR app in Vue.js and interfacing with the Ethereum & Bitcoin Blockchains for our payments system (along with several POS and Paypal), along with a complete integration of our CRM systems, marketing and data analysis systems.

My main function was to be the lead in each of our development processes: design, prototype, testing, integration, manufacturing, UI development and deployment.In order to do that, I did have to develop a large array of knowledge that helped my solve the problems I faced in the most agile way:- Programming of AVR and STM32 microcontrollers, along with ARM and Xtensa microprocessors.- Senior experience in Python and C/C++, along with Node.js/Javascript (React) and SQL systems- EDA software (Eagle and KiCAD)- SPICE and IBIS simulators, along with FEM simulators- Wireless stack development: BT, WiFi and LoRA
