Ruby has been studying guitar diligently over the past 11 years, both individually and with various teachers and institutions, as well as gaining real world experience in the Sydney Music scene. She attended lessons with Llew Kiek (Mara!) at The Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. These lessons allowed her to develop a strong understanding of Alternative Rock, Jazz, Blues, and World Music. During this time, Ruby was also trained in theory through AMEB theory level 1 and 2, which she completed with high distinctions. Previous to this, ruby studied old and contemporary popular music with various teachers, including Peter Watson and session musician, Sean Windsor.Outside of studying guitar and theory, Ruby has been a part of 4 contemporary alternative rock bands that write, rehearse, and perform original compositions at various venues. She is currently the singer and guitarist for 'Mannequin Radio,' and a guitarist in ‘Griffin Ford and The Variables’. During the past 3 years, she has also gained experience recording and releasing music. Ruby is currently studying for a Bachelor of Music at Western Sydney University.
