As Area Manager for The Espresso Room, I managed four sites in central London. This rolerequired both fast-thinking logistical management skills alongside personal engagementin order to maintain four busy sites. My duties in this role included:-Monthly payroll.-Weekly invoice authorization.-Supplier relations.-Hosting weekly management meetings.-Hosting in house events e.g cuppings.-Weekly net sales reporting.-Banking and reporting (twice a week).-General on-the-spot problem solving.-Recruitment for all sites and positions.-Arranging all equipment repair and shop maintenance.-Customer relations.-Managing over 30 staff members.-Pricing products - according to margin objective.-General business development - products, marketing, branding.-Setting up new till systems and uploading new products.

As Shop Manager for the Espresso Room my duties included:-Opening the shop - this includes dialing in the machine, setting the espresso grind, as wellas filter.-Engaging customers about our in-house offers and encouraging enthusiasm for our product,e.g discussing the correct beans for their brew method and taste.-Ensuring that the coffee is made to a consistent standard and maintained throughout theday-grind adjustments, awareness of batch change and freshness of beans.-Cash flow responsibilities.-Evaluating sales reports.-Stock control.-Training staff.-General shop maintenance.My success in this role was reflected in my promotion to Area Manager.
