Hello, my name is Ruby DeBellis and I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and an Area of Concentration in Biochemistry. My senior year of college I authored the Communications Policy for the City of Morris, which was adopted in May of 2018. After graduation I was the Corporate Affairs & Responsible Business Intern at Carlson Wagonlit Travel in Minnetonka, Minnesota where I helped coordinate their community giving campaign. I started as a Staff Assistant in Senator Amy Klobuchar's Minneapolis Office in October of 2018. I was promoted to Constituent Advocate & Internship Coordinator in May of 2019. My casework portfolio consisted of Veteran and Military Affairs, IRS, Education, Customs & Border Protection, Transportation, Telecommunications, and FEMA. I was promoted to an Outreach Director in June of 2021 where I handled a portfolio consisting of Housing, Public Safety & Law Enforcement, Women's Issues (including domestic violence, human trafficking, and reproductive health), Energy & Environment, Food Security, AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) Community, Local Government, and Disaster Relief. I received my MS in Science, Technology & Environmental Policy (STEP) at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs in May 2023, and served as the Class of 2023 student commencement speaker.In November 2023, I started as a Senior Account Strategist in the Public Affairs Department of Tunheim. In this role, I assist clients with their legislative strategy, grassroots and stakeholder engagement, and media relations.
