CurrentThis position is responsible for determining eligibility for Public Assistance Programs, to include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Medicaid by conducting interviews with applicants, requesting appropriate documentation, and applying applicable policy. Job duties include: Processing applications and case reviews accurately and timely by interpreting and applying complex federal, state and local public assistance policies. Making mathematical computations accurately. Using automated technology to establish and maintain case records. Handle multiple deadlines, computer systems (VACMS, SPIDER, VEC) high volume of client contact, high caseloads, and competing priorities. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers and other social service providers. Work effectively with people under stress and those from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds I have developed exceptional oral and written communication skills. I carry out role in a professional manner; i am able to schedule, organize and manage workload sufficient to meet deadlines; function well in a team environment; and respond quickly and effectively to customer inquiries to resolve issues, answer questions, and handle any emergency situations that may arise.
