Communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this role, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times. Excellent teamwork skills with colleagues are required but, also the ability to work independently when being responsible for the running of the bar alone. Not only has this job greatly improved these skills, but it has also boosted my confidence as an individual.

I am currently employed by the University of Birmingham to perform Lateral Flow COVID-19 tests in order to keep staff and students safe. This role has enabled me to improve my communication and interpersonal skills through the need to accurately convey instructions on how to perform a swab of the tonsils and nose. Organisation skills are also vital for this role to ensure the high volume of tests needed to be carried out are done so correctly and to a high standard.
