I am currently studying a Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science at the University of Tasmania with a double major in Marine Biology and Marine and Antarctic Governance. I am particularly interested in the coupling between research and industry, and have the aim to gain as much experience in research and academia as I can before eventually moving into the policy and management space. I am currently looking for an honours project opportunity related to Southern Ocean and Antarctic ecosystems, marine bioproducts in the aquaculture space, or fisheries and marine governance. I hold a 2024 CSIRO-UTAS CAST Studentship with the Geophysical Survey and Mapping Team, part of CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure division. My studentship objective is to publish finalised bathymetric maps of RV Investigator voyages to open source on the AusSeabed data portal. This is in conjunction with the Seabed 2030 target, which aims to deliver a complete seabed map for the benefit of people and the planet by 2030. I am also a 2024 Agrifutures Horizon Scholar, sponsored by Marine Bioproducts Cooperative Research Centre. This has allowed me to make connections between the perceptions of the Agriculture industry and that of Aquaculture and Fisheries in the marine sphere. I am looking forward to completing two industry placements as part of this in the coming year.In my spare time, I enjoy surfing, swimming, diving, hiking and camping, and I love exploring the beautiful island that is Tassie!
