I serve as the Permit /grant writer and Environmental Compliance Specialist for the City's Wastewater Division. I prepare and develop fact sheets and permits for issuance, including preparation of response to comments, in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. I review data and other pertinent permit requirements to ensure compliance and to effectively make recommendations for appropriate types of enforcement actions if needed. I also review the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to ensure compliance with the Department of Ecology with regard to the various reporting obligations. Through safety and compliance inspections, I ensure environmental compliance of the Wastewater Division utilizing regulations under the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), as well as other regulations from agencies such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). I am responsible for grant writing and submission of completed applications and identifying funding sources to support existing and planned programs, as well as develop, write and submit grant proposals. I am also responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting data on the performance of programs or activities funded by public and private sources as assigned. Lastly, I serve as the assistant to the Pretreatment Supervisor.
