By the age of twelve she began designing custom clothing, and at sixteen opened her own boutique called the Bamboo Hut. She designed and sold countless garments, and produced eccentric stage wear worn by Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Sly and the Family Stone, Graham Central Station, The Brecker Brothers, Barry Manilow, and many more! By 1991, in a quest to better understand herself and the complex relationships she developed over the years, Ruby continued her education at Douglas College in New Jersey. She made short work of earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, followed by her Master’s Degree from Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work. Today, Ruby specializes in everything from addictions and recovery, to stress management and holistic psychotherapy.
