SIDC is an NGO that advocates for the right of people living with HIV. At SIDC I was responsible for:Coordinating research implementation in a multidisciplinary team (nurses, physicians, patients, families, and laboratories).Supervising graduate students on conducting data collection, analysis, and interpretation.Piloting the 1st national health assessment study for People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in Lebanon.Set up advocacy groups to support health rights of PLHIV in Lebanon.Developping policy briefs with future implications and management strategies.

As a project manager at SIDC, I led the "Aging with HIV" project, the first collaborative project involving top university medical centers in Lebanon, along with the HIV division in the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).Through this project, I led a research study to investigate the social determinant of health among PLHIV.Conducted evidence-based literature review at the local, regional, and international levels.Led a multidisciplinary group of researchers that included nurses, graduate students and representatives of the Lebanese MoPH, Gilead Sciences, Inc., the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Lebanese American University Medical Center (LAUMC). Piloted the 1st comprehensive package of health services in response to unmet health needs of PLHIV in LebanonPiloted "Healthy Aging with HIV" campaign. Developed research material (in English and Arabic) including consent forms, questionnaires for qualitative and quantitative data collection and focus group discussions, as well as educational materials for participants (presentations, fliers, etc.)Led focus groups discussions (in English and Arabic).Supervised the implementation of different outreach programs.

I was a research assistant at the Congenital Heart Disease Genetic Program (CHDGP) at AUBMC. I worked on several projects, mainly Identifying the Genetic Gap in Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH) in Lebanon. My responsibilities included:Conducting a thorough literature review.Developing study design (research questions, research methodologies and target populations).Developing quantitative and qualitative tools (surveys, in-depth questionnaires, and focus group discussion’ guidelines).Data collection, validation and statistical analysis.Developing and translating informed consent forms.Conducting laboratory tests, including RT-PCR, gene sequencing, BLAST sequencing, primers designing, protein interaction and cell culture.Results interpretation, and writing and publishing research findings.
