I assist the Media Relations manager in supervising the planning, development, research, coordination, and implementation of projects and communications that will promote the business objectives and key messages of Medical Mutual in the news media and other external constituencies. I generate ideas and obtain media placement of company news and objectives. I produce written materials (e.g., news releases, media advisories, op-ed, and letters). I also monitor media and handle media requests and rapport.

I was responsible for coordination of the agency’s overall external communications; including written, broadcast, video, and web-based communications. I worked closely with all departments to develop and promote the agency’s image and identity with a wide variety of constituents. I was responsible for developing program materials and supporting the fundraising program including organizing special events. I coordinated purchasing and design of all print collateral materials with staff and vendors; as well as the writing, design and print of newsletters, brochures, annual reports. I was also responsible for coordinating all communications with the media including releases, booking appearances and pitching stories.

Complete responsibility for coordinating parent volunteers to write articles for the Neighborhood Newsletter for Noble and Oxford Elementary schools. Planned and developed stories and angles targeted to readership demographics by selecting subjects, sources and anecdotes that personalize the story for the reader. Produced quality stories and revisions in an accurate and timely fashion.

Educated potential donors and sponsors regarding the need for participation in the National Marrow Donor Program. Developed new contacts with corporate, community and minority groups. Scheduled and coordinated donor recruitment drives. Met and exceeded yearly goals set for recruiting new donors. Developed and employed strategic marketing designed to reach specific target audiences as well as provided budgets, timelines and the coordination of promotional material for the donor drives.
