I set out from Manchester University with my Social Anthropology degree with the intention to avoid the obvious, well-travelled, route. London seemed fickle to me, I was apprehensive to submit to London life in the fear it would consume me as my direction was not clear. With this in mind I set out for Australia to be devoid of societal pressures persuading me to take any job going. On my travels it became apparent to me the opportunities available to me in the UK. Albeit working at festivals for food vendors was surprisingly lucrative, a self inflicted fear of falling behind instilled a drive to begin my career. Upon my return I took on an internship at a fast paced booming events agency, Marble LDN. The events we pulled off were magnificent. It made sense because the work behind it was meticulous. After a year of working for Marble LDN I was head hunted by Blogosphere to join the team as Head of Events. A pivot into the influencer industry, in which I discovered my passion. The timing, however, was unjust, my first day in the role coincided with the first day of lockdown. Events became a whole new challenge. We switched to virtual until the restrictions permitted and we hosted 3 incredible events. After two years with Blogosphere, an opportunity at Bigo arose. The role of BD suits my contacts and experience thus far. I am excited for the challenge of presenting Bigo to the UK market.
