I am earning a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Washington State University in May 2024. Through my academic career I have obtained a greater understanding of the interactions between individuals and society. I have learned to focus on the bigger picture in regard to individual problems which tend to stem from outside forces such as government policy or social norms. I have also taken courses related to at-risk youth and psychological perspectives. Through my current internship position I have gained experience with interacting appropriately with teens and providing effective solutions to their academic problems. I would also be interested in doing related work outside of the educational setting to reach a larger population of at-risk youth in the community. Overall, I'm dedicated to helping others and being a source of support for those who need it the most.

  Help multilingual and migrant students navigate the challenges associated with attending a new school. Reduce the language barrier between students and staff by translating conversations and/or providing translating devices. Provide tutoring services to students who may lack academic support at home due to the difference in education and language being taught to them versus their parents/caregivers. Establish a welcoming environment and supportive relationships for students who at the moment may not have connections within the school.
