Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for planning, directing, overseeing and leading the operations of the Media Services Department. Responsibilities include planning and maintaining work systems, monitoring and evaluating procedures and policies, organizing and implementing resources needed to accomplish desired outcomes, and leading employees to encourage optimum performance.• Consciously maintain a workplace culture that fosters employee contribution, emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, communication, key employee retention and development, and high performance. • Subject expert of the technical skills required of staff and how the workflow of other departments affects staff duties and responsibilities.• Establish and maintain effective relationships with external customers (Programming, Traffic, Operations and Production) and internal clients (On-Air Operations, Commercial Operations, Network Operations, Ticker and Engineering).• Strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible, change plans, and manage multiple assignments without losing focus on priorities and achieving follow-through on objectives.• Technical mindset and an advanced knowledge of software and hardware related to file based workflows, content management systems, digital file formats, and electronic delivery and storage methods.• Train, coach, mentor, and develop staff and supervisors, including overseeing new employee on-boarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.• Work with the Director and Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ the appropriate number of employees with optimal skill-sets and abilities.• Provide effective performance feedback through performance evaluations, employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of the Director and Human Resources.•Set expectations and audit supervisor performance of task assignment and direct report development.

Supervising the Media Services group at the Fox Network Center in The Woodlands, TX. The team is responsible for taking in over 176,000 hours of live and pre-recorded content via satellite feeds and electronic file delivery, performing quality assurance and prep prior to air through Master Control, and archiving digital files and physical tape stock. • Receiving directives from senior management and scheduling tasks to assigned personnel.• Partnering with managment to define, enforce, communicate, and support operational policies and procedures.• Communicating and documenting expectations to direct reports.• Working with Manager to plan and implement projects to gain efficiencies.• Ensuring tasks performed by staff are completed efficiently and timely.• Taking a leadership role in monitoring/auditing attendance , on-time arrival and performance of direct reports.• Ensuring assigned employees have the tools necessary to perform their jobs.• Coaching, motivating, and training assigned employees.• Ensuring high level of accuracy and internal/external customer satisfaction.• Participating in interviewing and hiring of administrators.• Overseeing assimilation of new personnel and other staffing changes on the team.• Troubleshooting and reporting issues.
