The Maine Resilience Building Network’s mission is to promote resilience in all people by increasing the understanding of the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the importance of building resilience through protective factors such as positive relationships. As Engagement & Education Director, I lead statewide training and community resilience building, including leading a cohort of Community Resilience Facilitators armed to build healing across the state of Maine.

Oversee the daily activities and development of community outreach and education programs targeted to raise awareness and provide community education on the impact of childhood traumas. Responsible for the development and implementation of a training program designed to raise awareness and build community resilience in order to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Highly engaged in advocacy efforts to ensure children are raised in safe and supportive families.Task Forces & Coalition Membership: Healing City Baltimore (Co-chair of Workgroup), Governor's Task-force to Address Child Custody Cases Involving Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, Maryland Essentials for Childhood

Responsible for the collection and evaluation of community health programming data for the purposes of internal and regulatory hospital reporting. Network and develop strategic partnerships with community based organizations. Oversee the development of community health publications. Manage system signature programs such as the expansion of workforce development programs. Organize and develop departmental procedures for process improvement measures.

As program manager, Ruby developed and implemented a community-based team focused on reducing hospital readmissions among high utilizers of healthcare services through the use of hotspotting data collection. The team comprised of community health workers and community nurses trained in patient engagement techniques, chronic disease management, and provided case management of all social services. Additional responsibilities included:Developing and training staff on the core competencies of community health Building and expanding partnerships with community healthcare providers and healthcare delivery systemsEvaluation of program dataProcuring risk-stratification tools Reporting program progress and assisting with the application of grant funding

Provided coordination of healthcare services and health insurance application assistance to vulnerable populations such as the uninsured and an inmate population at Howard County Detention Center. Coordination of health services includes health insurance, primary care, medication services, and specialty care services.

Managed mental health case management services for Howard County. Represented organization in all county based health fairs and mental health conferences.
