I have now started my own company, providing interim senior management to Children's social care, plus consultancy across the children's sector - this included serious case reviews, management and professional development, disciplinary and complaints investigations and service reviews. I am currently on a 6 month interim assignment as Director of Child Health and Social Services in Guernsey.Happily I am also doing some regular work with my previous employers, Reconstruct, and I remain in close contact with them.

Responsible for consultancy projects and training and development projects relating to safeguarding children across UK and Guernsey:including serious case reviews panel chair and author, strategic needs analysis, senior management coaching and development, social work skills development; LSCB business and QA development, schools safeguarding, integrated services and multi agency working, domestic violence, disabled children, corporate parenting, expert partner with Virgincare for community health services safeguarding development. From March to July 2014, I provided interim strategic leadership for Scope, covering the newly created Director of Performance, Planning and Practice role. I also played a key role in delivering their hugely successful National Safeguarding Conference.

Provide leadership and management to the Safeguarding and Personalisation work across the organisation, including chairing and driving forward an effective performance management and quality assurance framework. Lead the development of leadership skills across the services and provide expert advice to safeguarding investigation and training. Provided the core input for the national safeguarding conference which was evaluated as the best they had run, and helped the roll our of person centred planning and focus in services. Ran a local leaders programme with a colleague from reconstruct and worked with area and senior managers in services to understand and seek to change aspect of organisational culture that were hindering service improvement.

In addition to my role as Director of Consultancy for Reconstruct Ltd. I was Interim Chair to the LSCB to relaunch and improve the effectiveness of the Board particularly in relation to quality assurance. I successfully led them through a period of huge change following an inadequate Ofsted judgement for safeguarding on the island. When I finished my contract in September 2013 the Board was operating in a more effective and child focused way and moving into structures, systems and processes to meet it's statutory requirements and to improve the outcomes for children.
