At the age of 26 I worked with New York State Legislators as an at-risk youth; and for the betterment of at-risk youth. I worked with Toni’lyn Brauchle of the Canteen in Cicero to secure funding because the Red Cross was cutting the program. The Canteen is still successfully under the Town of Cicero for the past 20 (+?)years.I started college EOP at SUNY Cobleskill in 2004 then transferred to Oswego in 2006. Accomplished an Undergraduate Degree in Human Development in Sp’08. and achieved a Masters Degree in School Counseling and a Certificate for advanced studies in Mental Health in ‘Sp 11.During several summers while at SUNY Oswego, I worked for Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. I began as an RA in Loudonville, NY. Then worked several summers in Santa Cruz, CA and one summer in Easton, PA. CTY for life. I chose not to be in the field of counseling because of the ACA, and APA code of ethics. What we are taught is not practiced, and as much as I have helped so many people; I just couldn’t do it under the current guidelines. I then worked as an Americorps member for The St. Bernard Project in Chalmette, Louisiana. The climate of this Government Non-Profit was horrendous. At the age of 35; I stayed in New Orleans for music to pursue a dream to play my fathers songs. After 9 years of traveling I came back to Oswego and got a job working and selling chocolate. The company ended up being unethical as well.I’m retiring in the city of New Orleans at 47, I will relax and play music while pursuing further education. My hope is too soon apply for fellowships so that I can write philosophies on the years of traveling and how to positively improve the dangers in the United States of America. Please know, human trafficking is real; it exists and although many of you would like to call me by my illegal government name…. Ruby Rose Perron is who I will forever be.
