I spent a week at David Brown Commercial alongside Chartered Surveyors and an Apprentice Surveyor, which developed my understanding of the profession and gave me valuable work experience within the sector. I gained experience in valuation, assisting with property inspection and measurement. I measured industrial , office and retail properties using Gross Internal and Net Internal Area. I assisted in the preparation of appendices for valuation reports: calculations, photographs and location plans. I also gained experience in agency, attending viewings of various offices, taking photographs of properties and ensuring that listings on the company’s website were up to date.
