I have just completed my final year of studies at Sheffield Hallam University, achieving a first class degree in Biomedical Science with honours. During my studies I completed a placement year at Sheffield Children's Hospital in the Clinical Chemistry department. Here, I was a part of the Newborn Screening Laboratory team, responsible for the routine screening of nine conditions and a pilot scheme of a tenth. From this year in industry I gained a lot of experience and a range of different skills, as well as completing the IBMS registration portfolio.Now that I have finished my BSc degree I am looking for a job in the related field. I am hopeful that I can take the skills and experience that I have gained from my studies and industry experience into a new job role.
