About Ruby Shields
I forged my passion for creativity while growing up in rural NSW. I’m a creative being, a busy bee and a lover of fostering community. I love a good story, capturing moments in time and thinking deeply about the next space to design.I've recently completed my Associate Degree in Interior Decoration & Design, however previously I worked as an art director in advertising. During that time I worked across a wide range of clients which has forged my flexibility in responding to briefs efficiently and in-depth. Also, the ability to create a strong concept to deliver an idea.During my Associate degree, I have completed a range of projects from tiny homes, and residential to commercial design including a co-working project and wellness centre. I was on the Student Committee - SSCC for 2 years and also contributed to the Graduate exhibition in 2022 and soon 2023. I have been shortlisted for 30 under 30 Interior Designs by the Australian Design Review (number 31 to be exact). A finalist for the 37th Dulux Colour Awards and the winner of the Tiny House competition held by the Eussen Design Competition. Among those accomplishments, I have also submitted my designs to KBDi awards and look forward to Dulux's 38th Colour Awards with my two commercial projects.My work has been published in Grand Design Australia and Home Design Magazine while also contributing to the design community through blogs and soon podcasts. During my time in advertising, I was shortlisted for B&T 30 under 30 in 2020 for creatives and published in AdNews for my “life during covid” piece. Apart from studying full-time, my husband and I are renovating our house located in the Yarra Valley, which is soon to be featured.Brands I have worked on in advertising include but are not limited to: Bupa, Haagen Dazs, OMG Yes, Harris Scarfe, Terry White Chemmart, Calbee, Drummond Golf, Fauldings Probiotics, Treasury Wines Estate, Soda Stream, Sharpie, RACV, Australia Post, Beyond Blue, MARS, Bakers Delight, Grill'd, Pennytel, MyState Bank, Carlton United Breweries, Carman's, Queen fine foods, Dr Oetker, Moose Toys, 7 Eleven, Radio Rentals, InRent, Geddit, Jetstar, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Open Universities, Charles Darwin University, Victorian Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO) and Melbourne Theatre Company.
