Supporting individuals with disabilities in instances of discrimination, infringement of human rights or inability to access services in which they need (for example supporting clients to gain access to the NDIS, CASP services and the DSP). Within this role I have become proficient in completing intakes for new clients, writing case notes/case management.

Supporting individuals with disabilities (intellectual, physical, and psychosocial) in a variety of settings, including, community access, personal care, workplace support and education/learning support.

Working with children with disabilities (physical, intellectual, and psychosocial) in a respite setting, this included one on one sleepovers with up to 7 children, medication handling, report writing, working with families to focus on person centered practice, community access and overnight management.

Working with individuals with disabilities within a workplace setting with a primary focus on skill building within the professional setting and learning skills such as cover letter writing, data entry and accessing adult education opportunities.

Within this role my responsibilities included: holding events for students, cleaning shared areas, handling maintenance issues (i.e., broken items in rooms, flooding issues and when students were locked out) and supporting students within the building (i.e., providing mental health assistance and engaging new students in the buildings activities and social.
