Section Head of Serology and Immunology• Ensures that all machines are calibrated and all tests are within the quality control range.• Verify test procedures are performed in accordance to the standard operating procedures.• Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of work area.• Transporting, loading of reagents/supplies and updating inventory.• Perform tests for Thyroid Profile, Hepatitis Profile, anti-HCV, RPR/VDRL, CRP, Typhidot, Dengue NS1, Dengue IgM & IgG, Leptospirosis, and Malaria using Reagent Kits and machine such as the miniVIDAS.• Reporting of the monthly census for each test.• Filing of patient’s result.• Rotates to other sections as necessary. Operates machines and process samples in machines such as Sysmex CA 6600, URIT, J&J Vitros 350, Zaflyte, QuoLab, and Sysmex 1000i.

Taking blood of patients is our specialization. We are assigned in Medical Centers and go to various doctor’s clinics once called. We are assigned not just inside the Laboratory, but also to various places all over Singapore; wherein we also take blood from companies’ employees having their annual blood tests and check-ups. And we take the blood of our patients according to standards and guidelines set by the MOH (Ministry of Health). a. Ensure sterility of equipment used in phlebotomy. b. Ensure the tidiness of equipment in the work area and tackle box. c. Ensure the accurateness of the patient's identity and details. d. Ensure that enough blood was taken for the specified tests. e. Ensure the sterile technique in the phlebotomy procedure. f. Ensure the patient's safety during and after phlebotomy procedure.

Extraction of blood samples from patient’s home; then deliver the blood to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
