I have been highly successful in each of the workplaces I have contributed to within the last 3 years, these include Dolled Up party assistant, Waurn Ponds Fish and Chip shop, Myer Santa-land (seasonal work) and Nanny/babysitting. I believe that my work ethic and social abilities has helped me to adapt to new environments, and has helped other feel encouraged and comfortable as well. Skills I have obtained from these workplaces include: - Diffusing high pressure situations with aggressive customers by calmly and reasonably conversing with them to further understand their situation, before explaining the company's reasoning (eg. Coronavirus restrictions, full bookings for Santa photos, lack of product supply) - I have learned basic food handling skills by appropriately using knives and packaging food- My time management skills have improved due to the increase in responsibility of caring for four children as their Nanny. - At times, it can be difficult to motivate the children to get ready for school, however I have obtained new communication skills that can be used with children to encourage them the feel excited for the day. For example, providing rewards such a fun breakfast or snack for recess.
