In this role I work with a variety of external stakeholders to facilitate mentoring projects for young people aged 14-19. This can include HE and Sector Insight programmes as well as bespoke projects. I support the coordination and delivery of projects from start to finish; lead training sessions; and analyse engagement data. I currently have around 20 projects in my portfolio. Some of the projects I am currently working on are:• Bright Medics - partnership with different medical schools (including University of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Leeds, Plymouth, BSMS, UEA etc.) across the U.K. and the Medical School Council (MSC) to provide mentoring to young people considering a career in healthcare.• Allen & Overy - project with law firm A&O to help students looking to practice law.• Young Refugees - a brand new bespoke project looking to provide mentoring to young refugees in the U.K.• Connected Forces - a project focusing on tackling loneliness within the service children community.

CampusConnect is a peer to peer service that helps applicants connect with current students and alumni. It seeks to create a pre-arrival community for students, which then impacts retention rates. I have contributed to a wide range of tasks including content creation, ambassador recruitment and social media management.I interview students from all over the world about their education experiences for the blog section of the website. I also produce regular social media content, uploading weekly on Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn. I support students using the service and gather their feedback.

I was responsible for encouraging the development of Academic societies at Leeds University Union. I have experience in conflict management and mediation, and I worked towards streamlining the governance structure of our largest medical society. In January 2021 I prepared a presentation for the University of Leeds' 2021 Student Education Conference. I used the brief and abstract I was provided with to present information clearly, and communicated regularly with the Activities Officer, who served as the speaker. The presentation was delivered successfully and we received recognition from the organising committee.From February 2021 I organised focus groups to gather student feedback on the University’s Access and Participation Plan, which details its commitments to widening participation and access. In April 2021 I facilitated student attendance at the Office for Students’ (OfS) ‘critical friend’ meeting and contributed to the final report.

The Women’s Collective is a staff network that seeks to implement the core values of LUU whilst connecting female-identifying staff across the organisation. This is a leadership position that involved working closely with HR and senior leaders.I facilitated a monthly book club and most recently delivered a ‘Friendship Week’ event series in the lead up to Valentine’s Day 2021, which centred around different aspects of female friendship. We also ran a podcast and offered safe space sessions to talk about pertinent or sensitive issues.

I worked with student clubs and societies on their compliance with governance and safety procedures. I supported them in their activities (including international/UK trips and events) by organising event space and assessing required paperwork, such as risk assessments. I was responsible for the email correspondence that goes out to all club committees to keep them updated and engaged. I also dealt with any queries, problems and complaints students may have. I was involved in streamlining process and policy in various areas of our team, from student elections to compliance documentation.

During my time as a Language Assistant, I worked with fellow teaching staff to deliver informative and interactive lessons to students between the ages of 16 and 19. I received an Excellent rating from my school as a result of my work there. As a Language Assistant, I:- Gave frequent presentations lasting from 30 minutes to an hour;- Designed interactive lesson plans and activities for the students, for which I achieved an Excellent rating from the school;- Worked within a team of teachers but also taught independently;- Gave regular constructive feedback on written and spoken English to ensure progress.
