As a research assistant with CLF, I was part of a study that explored the intersection of student food choices and the climate impact of foods on Johns Hopkins undergraduate campus. I was responsible for sharing information and tabling at dining halls, acting as a liaison between the students and CLF, to encourage more eco-friendly food choices. I analyzed data and classified recipes in regard to their climate impact based on a stop light scale (red-yellow-green) to create readable and understandable messaging for students. I utilized Microsoft Suite programs to synthesize reports and summaries of findings.

This internship is a community practicum experience through the Johns Hopkins University SOURCE program. I worked with Maryland Health Care for All! Coalition to raise awareness and support for the expansion of the reach of Maryland's first-in-the-nation Prescription Drug Affordability Board, which seeks to make prescription drugs more affordable and accessible for all Marylanders. I mainly assisted with drafting testimonies for the legislative session, garnering public support, and utilizing social media to engage and empower the public.

In this position, I worked as a research assistant on Empowered by the Sun, a research project that explores the intersection of green technologies and housing justice by following Louisville Metro Government's solarize campaign, Solar Over Louisville. I was responsible for data collection through quantitative and quantitative methods, as well as synthesizing that data into a palatable research poster that was presented at the Kentucky Public Health Association annual conference.

I was elected by my peers to serve as a liaison for students as a Student Senator in the School of Arts & Science for one academic year, as well as for the School of Public Health & Information Sciences (SPHIS) as a Student Senator for one academic year. My particular role as a Student Senator position addressed concerns and drafted policy to improve the sustainability, inclusivity, and academic integrity of UofL. I presented and authored resolutions regarding the safety of off-campus housing and school dining policies. I also planned events to involve students in university-wide events, like vaccine drives, mental health support events, and free headshots. I also served on the communications board of the SPHIS Senate, on which I created social media posts and co-managed the Instagram account.

•Managed business branding and outreach on Instagram, reaching an audience of more than 30,000 followers and utilized social media marketing through Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to advertise events and sell merchandise•Suggested and implemented several processes to promote a more effective and efficient business to allow for more accessible assistance for customers and vendors•Assisted with building the schedule for a team of 10 employees and acted as a liaison between the business owners and the employees•Completed opening and closing procedures, including daily handling of cash and online sales through Venmo and the store's financial operating platform•Creatively organized and designed booths in a vendor-based market•Negotiated customer and vendor relations and managed complaints, questions, and services and navigated cashier duties in a high stress and fast-paced work environment

The Kentuckiana Health Collaborative is a non-profit organization based out of Louisville, KY that engages stakeholders and the community in order to promote health equity and public health awareness. My position as a student intern was all encompassing, but my main duties were focused on the Diabetes Learning Collaborative, a project that strives to involve large healthcare players to collaborate to deliver comprehensive, accessible care for employees, staff, and patients living with diabetes. I was responsible for organizing meetings and transcribing calls. I also assisted with editing many parts of the organization website using Wordpress, as well as planned in person forum and community events that centered around education of health equity and built environment.

•Prepared reports, including recommendations and concerns, for monthly meetings with the Rabbit Hash Historical Society to improve the safety and management of businesses within the town•Assisted with the planning of many entertainment events, such as concerts and fundraising events to maintain the historical and hospitable integrity of the town and building•Created and implemented new business procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic to create a safer space, catering to high-risk individuals•Organized and supervised approximately 50 community members and volunteers in restoration efforts following a tragic fire that destroyed most of the building and inventory•Utilized social media websites to boost sales, attendance at events, and recognition of the business•Interacted with customers from all walks of life to create an overall warm, inviting atmosphere through interpersonal communication about the unique history and culture of the town and business•Managed cashier and financial management duties, opening and closing procedures, and dealt with customer concerns and questions effectively and efficiently
