Currently working as a Disability, Access and Inclusion Advisor for Norfolk County Council. Championing disability equality, I provide advice to the Council at both a strategic and operational level, on how to incorporate accessibility for disabled people into local services, the built and virtual working environments and digital information. Previously, I held the position of Patient Engagement facilitator at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I facilitated the inclusion of patient and carer voices within quality and service re-design improvement projects, and influenced improvement for those with characteristics protected by the Equality Act (2010). Prior to this, I had completed my PhD at Loughborough University, focused on taking a Human Factors approach to exploring the web content accessibility needs of People with Dementia. Before commencing my doctoral studies, I had also completed my MSc in Human Factors for Inclusive Design, with Distinction, and graduated with a First Class (Honours) degree in Industrial Design and Technology, both from Loughborough University.

During this internship, I have learnt how to use Nvivo as a research analysis tool, explored the use of thematic analysis of interview transcripts and helped to develop a research methods toolbox for postgraduate students. The work done during this internship has grown my interest in the field of research and confirmed my next career step of studying for a PhD.
