As a combined major in mathematics and physics with an economics minor, I have strong interests in the applications of mathematics in both the technological development and business fields. From my academic and work background, I have gained experience and skills in data analysis, which are applicable to both fields. Specifically, the statistics and computational physics courses provided me with foundations in quantitative analysis and models. For the computational courses, I used Python for implementing mathematical methods, such as linear regression, and for manipulating data from Excel sheets for analysis and visual representation. Furthermore, during my summer internship as an Engineering intern at Grote Industries, my main project involved doing preliminary research on hardware and software, testing limitations, and creating a presentation highlighting the main findings for a product that the company was interested in using. As an intern, I also completed data analysis on product capability and worked with other interns and employees to help prepare for expansion of the company’s warehouse.Throughout my academic career and work experience, I have pursued my passion for mathematical applications in industry, and I hope to continue that pursuit in any future opportunities.
