Project Manger: Research In Inclusive Education
In my University degree I completed a Participatory Community Practice Project. This involved a research project completed with Blossom Flourish Grow, a Private Paediatric practice in Warragul. The project focused on implementing inclusive education in primary schools. I worked in a partnership with another student developing an online toolkit resource for teachers to support them with strategies to use to implement inclusive education. It has been rewarding to implement an effective resource that can assist teachers in implementing inclusion in classrooms to ultimately, benefit school children to support their engagement in school. This project allowed me to take on the role of a project manager which developed my skills in communication, leadership skills and developed my initiative to complete tasks. The project exposed me to multiple aspects of research and developed my ability to effectively find and use evidence based research. This is a useful skill to develop to ensure I continue to use evidence based findings throughout my clinical practice. Throughout the project, multiple challenges arose where I reflected the ability to adapt to different situations being a useful skill I will use in clinical practice. Additionally, respecting opinions of other colleagues in a larger team was a skill developed over this time where I learnt ways to appropriately communicate and respond to this. These skills I have developed will assist in my professional and clinical career.
