Research Projects: 1) Interspecies Interactions within Microbiome Microbial Communities, and 2)Development of Diagnostic tool for Valley Fever.- Research involved monitoring microbe-microbe communication under real-life conditions todetect interspecies interactions in biofilm formation. (Project 1)- Screening for biomarkers specific to endospore release in Coccidioides for the development ofa diagnostic tool for Valley Fever. (Project 2)- Supervised graduate and undergraduate students in research projects.

• Provide research training to undergraduate and graduate students.• Investigated transcription factor EVI-1 and related isoforms in leukemogenesis. • Initiated independent study to evaluate binding potential of RNA to EVI-1 and MDS1-EVI-1 and to identify EVI-1 and MDS1- EVI-1 interacting sites of RNA in normal and leukemic cells. • Implemented genetic engineering techniques to clone the MDS1-EVI1 protein into affinity tag vectors.
