I am a double HBCU alum (Howard University and Virginia Union University). I am married to the amazing Dr. Sheila Graham and the mother of two amazing children.WHAT DO I DO?For over 20 years I have enjoyed a career as a social worker, self-esteem expert, educator, motivational speaker, and author. For several years I had to stop doing the things I love because of a traumatic brain injury. In the process of healing, I found a pattern throughout my life of resilience and thriving against all odds. Whether it was dealing with my trauma because of sexual abuse, the murder of my brother, and/or my traumatic brain injury, or adjusting to my stuttering - I learned the secret to succeeding against the odds.WHY I DO WHAT I DO?When my brother was murdered in 1991, I saw a need for mental health professionals and vocational specialists to empower my community. Since those resources were lacking, my passion grew to for fill that need. We all can succeed against the odds when the right supports and resources are put in place.
