Evaluation of chemical substances and mixtures under REACH and CLP.▪ Main duties :-Substance identification of the substances registered: conformity between description of constituents, impurities and additives with analytical data reported (GC, LC, MS, NMR, UV, IR, etc.).-Read-Across: evaluation of proposals of data gap filling (toxicity endpoints) with analogoussubstances (chemical similarity) in order to avoid unnecessary animal testing. This includes the use of QSAR models, chemical categories or direct Read-Across between substances.-Exposure Assessment and Risk Characterization: related to human health effects for workers andconsumers exposed to chemical substances.

▪ Main duties related with the development of the Medicinal Chemistry Department:-Design of pure compound libraries for primary biological screening assays.-Search for lead compounds through those who had previously shown biological activity in the primaryin vitro assays: This includes synthesis, semi-synthesis and derivatization projects coordinated with invivo assays.-Introduction of new computational technologies: 2D screening of substructures from compoundlibraries and 3D interactions between substructures and biological target.

▪ Main duties:-Purification, synthesis, semi-synthesis and derivatization of compounds (hit compounds) from naturalmarine products with biological active properties.-Formulation studies of the selected compounds (lead compounds).
