- Tutored K-12 students in math concepts up to calculus- Attended monthly team with co-workers to discuss different strategies to engage students

- Worked with a team of 15 other interns to create engaging advertisements- Canvassed 40+ neighborhoods and 1,500+ door- Performed office duties including filing and entering phone bank data- Attended professional outreach events- Attended weekly workshops with local political figures to analyze legislation and campaign process

- Shadowed clinical lab scientists doing multiple tests including PTT/PT, blood cell counts, blood gas analysis for ongoing burn surgeries- Picked up samples from OR & ICU, assisted with phlebotomies, and performed urine tests- Was the main receptionist and took physician & UC Davis lab and Labcorp calls; filed QC paperwork

- Assisted Ph.D. student with 2 other interns by using Jalview to analyze large sets of thousands of DNA sequences of E. coli from NCBI database of toxin-antitoxin systems- Performed research on doc toxin and if its presence pressured the evolution of EF-Tu target and created a 3-D visualization of doc-toxin using ChimeraX and presented at end-of-program symposium.

- Worked under UCSC faculty to apply microbiology lab skills to test environmental factors in Monterey Bay for fecal coliform levels, domoic acid, and water quality- Used arduino software to analyze the air quality at different aerosol particle sizes at different spots on campus- Presented scientific poster - “The Interactions Between Environmental Estrogens and Microalgae”.
