Data and Backend Tech Lead on two of Spotify's initiatives, one of which is the number 1 company bet.Leading the Data and Backend Tech for the Reinvent Free(RiF) initiative, which has been the number 1 company bet. Journey started by running various experiments for different markets/user groups for providing on demand and time limited perks and trial experience to the free users with an aim of studying the key user metrics for identifying the best experience/features/model leading to new user retention and existing user conversion. Further, co-ordinated with various squads, user researchers, product folks, designers, licensors etc and launched the designed and tested new RiF experience MVP in 11 key markets. Created pipelines to identify the on-demand streaming consumption on eligible devices from eligible free users not on any trial and following other rules as per acquired licenses, in order to generate datasets for facilitating client behaviour and for giving royalties.Also Led the Data and Backend Tech for new lyrics experience for the worldwide launch which led to sustained positive impact on MAU and Subscriber growth with high engagement in all markets since launch, while driving differentiated value for strategic audiences (in this case Gen Z). Created dataflow pipelines for ingesting 7.3M lyrics records for 10.5M ISRCs, received from third-party providers, while matching them to 30M unique tracks by identifying same tracks by matching algorithms. Created backend services to serve the ingested lyrics to the client for user requests. Created various pipelines to deliver lyrics seen/sharing reports, to streamline lyrics operational issues etc. Further worked on identifying different ways of improving the quality of matching lyrics to different tracks, while also making faster and cost effective ingestion of lyrics while reducing the ingestion time from 24 hours to 1 hour.

Working within Content Assembly area, where we create and own an end-to-end content pipeline to ingest, host and distribute content metadata for podcasts and other new formats. All information that is being tracked in this system is decomposed into statements holding information about a source, an entity, a field, and a value. Statements have consolidation jobs running to combine several statements from different sources that talk about the same entity and field. Statements have refinement jobs, which listen for updates on changed entities and create the new statements based on that data. Statements further have the projection jobs, which listens for updates on changed entities and send that data to an external service, while tweaking the data formats to suit their needs in consuming systems.Key responsibilities have been to deliver the quarterly objectives as prioritized while staying aligned to the roadmap.

Worked in Personalization mission, to design and develop Spotify's new content programming platffform to replace the older content programming and delivery system with the aim to redesign a simplified architecture and to create a distributed platform for distributing the content in a unified way. The platform enables different content owners to setup their content for the system to resolve and present to the users manually curated, staff picked and personalized content while running A/B experiments on features.Key responsibilities were to design and develop the new platform while understand the existing feature intense content delivery system, understanding various legacy decisions by interacting with client teams, feature teams and all content teams using the existing platform, to find more simplified solutions to fit in all use cases while simplifying things in the process keeping the quality and resilience as top priority, and to convince all the stakeholders to move to the new platform.

Working in ”Risk & Compliance Services” where we have responsibility of more than 10 components which are microservices interacting with other internal/external components.Responsibilities have been to encapsulate regulatory rules for different markets/jurisdictions for authorisation of players with regulators as well as reporting the game data to regulators for many different jurisdictions like Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Estonia etc.I have lead the development of integration with new Belgium gaming commission platform, migrated many components from scala to springboot, simplifying over engineered architectures such as for SAFE reporting to Danish regulators, by bootifying, replacing couchbase with oracle, redesigning the way to get data etc..Besides regulatory compliance components, I have also been working with KYC which is event driven fraud detection system, mainly responsible to collect and analyze customer information and events. The application serves the end user with the functionality of analyzing the loan which he/she wants to take from the bank, on the basis of various parameters like rate of percentage, repayment schedule calculation, different attractive schemes etc. And enables banks also to easily calculate the EMIs and make easy various calculations for bank employees. We are responsible for developing a new Finnone-CAS product based on Spring and Hibernate.I have created a complete Rule Engine, based on Parameters, Conditions and Rules with a binary tree implementation, to create rules, parse expressions, and evaluate rules.I have implemented Spring Security for authentication and authorization. I have done authentication based on LDAP as well as DB.I have worked on creating work flows for different business implementations, creating custo frameworks like event listeners etc using spring's features.I have done entity modelling and have written services to provide operations to query database.I have a little hands-on experience with Spring MVC, javascript and Jquery.Responsibilities: • Working with the Scrum Masters on the assigned stories, to design the approach and write clean code with JUnit test cases to provide complete test coverage.
